Friday Harbor Trip - 2005

On the morning of August 16, I left home to take the ferry
from Anacortes to Friday Harbor Washington.

This is the road to the ferry if you drive on. I parked in a lot $10.00

This building is where you buy your ticket and wait to board the ferry.

I'm getting my ticket. $5.50. I also got a cup of coffee - $1.25

This is the ramp to walk on to the ferry and cars waiting to load. The ferry pulled out at 11:15.

Inside the ferry there are comfortable chairs. It was very windy outside.

Would you believe I got off the ferry and walked on water to take this picture?

The ferry arrived at Friday Harbor at 12:30.

These people are getting off ferry from car area.
I got off too.

This is the fire station at Friday Harbor.

I like to visit banks! Here is Wells Fargo.

Gas was $3.06!!!!! I had paid $2.53 in Oak Harbor in the morning.

I bought a sandwich at this Market for $4.00. There are lots of restaurants and food is expensive. There are also many real estate business and homes are very, very expensive.

I visited an Art Museum
and then went to the Whale Museum. A ticket to tour the museum cost $5.00 for seniors.

This picture of the harbor was taken from a window upstairs in the
museum.

This is the San Juan County Court House.

Walking up and down hills is tiring so I rested on a bench in a park overlooking the harbor.

This is where the Victoria ferry docks, and here it is.

I talked to people from New York, Virginia, Victoria, B.C. and Florida. These ladies were from Burlington and Mt. Vernon ,WA. I promised to post their picture. Here is Shirley and Mary

Foot passengers started boarding the ferry Chelan at 4:45.

The ferry left Friday Harbor at 5:00

I did not see many life preservers or life boats. Glad I know how to swim.

At 5:30 the ferry made a brief stop at Lopez Island.

The ferry arrived back at Anacortes at 6:30
